Plotting (x,y) CoordinatesMaybe I missed it, but where do you enter the (x,y) coordinates of a known linear function and have the calculator determine the function y=mx+b (slope and y-intercept) and also graph it? |

Sounds like you want to enter points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) and have a "calculator" determine the equation. Best we can do is point you in the direction to solve the problem. First, compute m: m=(y2-y1)/x2-x1). Then, plug in y2=m*x2+b and solve for b. Then you will have the equation. Once you have the equation, you can get the graph by entering mx+b into the basic graphing calculator. ---------------------------------------- Principal Skinner |
