I need help figuring out P=3x^2-17x+20. For what values of x does the company make a profit? |

Factoring, you get: P(x)=(3x-5)(x-4). So, the zeros are at x=5/3 and x=4. This is a parabola opening up, hitting the x-axis that the two zeros. So, if x>4 or x<5/3, there is a profit. ---------------------------------------- Principal Skinner |
