I am trying to plot two lengthy equations using the "advanced plot and solve" option. After a few tries, though, it has displayed nothing. I believe it should work, since it successfully plotted both of them individually with the "advanced plot" program. What else do you think I should try? |

If you send me the equations, I'd be happy to check into it and see what the problem is. As you can imagine, there are a lot of technicalities, so the problem could be any one of a number of things. In the meantime, you might try different windows (Xmin, Xmax, Ymin, Ymax). ---------------------------------------- Principal Skinner |

We checked our logs and found the two equations you entered. One had 19 terms and the other had 11 terms. Plotting them together caused them to "time out". We now show a page that indicates that the plotting took too long. The fact is, there are plenty of technically challenging things to plot, well beyond textbook problems that we handle quite easily, so don't be surprised if you enter a lengthy equation and you get a message that says "Timed Out". Exploring is something we encourage, but practical considerations prevent us from giving unlimited computational time. Keep exploring! ---------------------------------------- Principal Skinner |
